In the Twinkling of an Eye

Our family went on an adventure last week. We drove to Kanab, a little town right outside Kolob Canyon.  There is a very popular destination in the canyon, named "The Wave." My Brother-in-law obtained some hiking permits so we met in Kanab for a few days to make a vacation out of it.

The drive there was so very long. The last few miles were the longest as it was late at night, dark, and we were going over a mountain in the fog. Drek was driving, I was in the passenger seat. I watched the road in confusion. What was all over the road? After a minute a became more confused: What is falling in the air? Is that ash? Did a volcano explode?

Drek said it right before I thought it: Snow. Oh. Right. That would be snow. The reason we moved to Sunland. I guess I'm a little too used to the weather in Sunland if I can't recognize snow when we are driving through a blizzard.

Still, we made it safety. We had a wonderful time with family and went on some beautiful hikes:
